I signed another guestbook, but will write a message on this one, too.....
I was sorry to hear of my brother's death. He and I grew up in a close Hungarian-Canadian family in Scarborough, with parents who were proud of their Hungarian background but felt fortunate to be Canadians.
Our parents had lost two earlier babies to sickness, and in 1937, Cornelius was born. He was a huge baby, and our mother was tiny. He was blue when he was born, which was a major problem back then. But he thrived after that initial crisis.
Cornelius Victor Vincent did not like his first name, and was happy to change his name to Vic when he was old enough. He was a friendly and happy boy and got along well with everyone.
Cornelius (Vic) was an usher at our wedding in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Toronto on December 29, 1962. His sons Brian and Paul were there, too, with Joan, their mother. What a great day that was, with snow and ice and slippery roads....
We have so many memories of so many things....
We are Catholics and are having Masses and prayers said for the repose of his soul, and Steve and I pray that everyone who cared for my brother will find peace as well.
