Victor Vincent Devietoris (Seymour)'s Obituary
Victor Vincent Devietoris, son of L.Victor and Theresa (Piroska) Devietoris was born March 21, 1937 in Scarborough Ontario, Canada. He departed this life, Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years, seven months and twenty-three days.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Victor is survived by his loving wife, Alzina, of the home; a daughter, Lori Sarafinchin and her husband, Corey of Alberta, Canada; three sons, Richard Devietoris and his wife, Debra, of Sasketchewan, Canada, Brian and Paul James, of Toronto, Canada; a granddaughter, Niki Sarafinchin; three step-children, Vivienne Ford and her husband, Mark, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Linda Stevens, and Raymond Wilson and his wife, Cora, all of Seymour, Missouri; ten step-grandchildren, Jimmy, Joshua, Dustin, Deanna, Ashley, Joey, JoJo, Shaylea, Heather, and Brandi; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Claudine Goller, of Toronto, Canada; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
He grew up in Canada and worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Following his marriage to Alzina on July 13, 2003 he moved to Seymour, Missouri to make his home. He and Alzina attended the Cedar Gap Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.
In his spare time he enjoyed cooking and making special recipes for his family and friends. He spent a lot of time surfing the web on the computer and had recently built a model railroad that he was very proud of. He also loved playing with his cats, “Rusty” and “Bubby”.
Victor was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial services are Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. in the Seymour Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Derek Terry officiating with burial at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday, 3:00 P.M. until services at 4:00 P.M. in the church.
Arrangements are under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
