Vida Jewell Jenkins (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Vida Jewell Jenkins, age 95, of Bolivar, Missouri departed this earth at 11:55 p.m., July 25, 2011, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri, with her family by her side. While ailments had taken her physical health, her mind stayed sharp until her last moments.
Vida was born on August 19, 1915, in Violet, Missouri, the daughter of Lee Patrick McElwee and Ina Elizabeth Kinsey.
She received her diploma from Bolivar High School, Class of 1933. Vida was saved in 1933 and was a member at Fairview Methodist Church in Huron, Missouri. She was the last surviving member of the Extension Club. Vida was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother, her husband William Jenkins, son Cleo Wayne and his wife Mary Grace, son William (Bill) Eugene, three brothers, and three sisters.
Surviving are her brother Edward McElwee of Springfield, Missouri, her son Gary and his wife Beverly Jenkins of Bolivar, her daughter-in-law Lois Jenkins of Bolivar, her grandchildren Megan and Paige Jenkins of Bolivar, Debbie and Billy Hodge of Jasper, Missouri, Cheryl and Art Rojas of Thompson, Missouri, Carla and Jamie Payne of Bolivar, Brenda and Jimmy Netherton of Bolivar, Michael and Tammy Jenkins of Bolivar, Ricky and Jamey Jenkins of Bolivar, Danny Jenkins of Bolivar, fifteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
