Viola Tebbets' Obituary
Viola Margaret Tebbets, daughter of Lloyd “Boy” and Martha Perkins Maloney, was born January 11, 1930, in Syracuse, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, July 27, 2009, in her son’s home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, six months, and sixteen days. On October 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Allen Tebbets, and to this union one son was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert, on March 2, 2001. Viola is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Donna Tebbets, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Syracuse, Missouri area and graduated from high school. After she and Robert were married, they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. Throughout the years, Viola was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her husband and son. When Robert retired in 1972, he and Viola lived in several places before finally making their home in Springfield, Missouri for the last several years. Viola had recently come to live with her son in the last few months. Viola had attended Candock Baptist Church near Lebanon, Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed doing embroidery work, oil paintings, bird watching, and growing beautiful flowers in her garden. She also liked being with her family. Viola was a loving mother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. The family of Viola Tebbets would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of St. John’s Home Health and Hospice for their special care and many acts of kindness. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday August 1, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday until time of service under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Memroials to St. John's hospice & the Work Maraantha Mission.
