Viola Theakston's Obituary
Viola Maggie Theakston, age 90, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away at 10:11am, on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri. She was born December 24, 1918 in Topeka, Kansas to George Robert Taylor and Maggie (Chrisman) Taylor. After graduating from Sellsbury High School in Sellsbury, Kansas she married Vern Theakston on May 5, 1949 in Pratt, Kansas. Vern preceded Viola in death on February 20, 2001. Viola was a bookkeeper for a Grain Company in Kansas for many years before moving to Louisburg, Missouri and then to Bolivar, Missouri. She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church in Bolivar, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vern, and two sisters. Viola is survived by her two nieces, Shirley Webster of Florida and Nancy Ruby of Oregon, and two very special friends, Jerry and Sharon Routh of Wheatland, Missouri. A viewing for family and friends will be from 10:00am-5:00pm, Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Cremation will follow the viewing with burial of Viola’s ashes at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri, next to her husband Vern, at a later date under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri with Rev.
