Violet Baker (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Violet Chloe Baker of Richland, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Richland Care Center. She was born August 19, 1928 in Swedeborg, Missouri to Alfred Peterson and Lula Miller Peterson. At the time of her passing, she was ninety-four years, eight months and twenty-two days old.
Violet was raised in Swedeborg and graduated from Richland High School. She then moved to Crocker, Missouri and started her family. Following her husband’s time in the military, stationed in Germany, she moved to Fair Grove, Missouri. She then moved to Richland, Missouri where she would live the rest of her life.
She attended First Baptist Church in Richland where she made many friends and grew closer to her Lord and Savior.
She enjoyed sewing and quilting and loved being in her flower beds, growing beautiful flowers for all in her neighborhood to enjoy.
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. They meant so much to her and she looked forward to the time they could be together.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Phillip Lowell Wells; her brothers, Cecil, Leonard, Bill and Dale; her sisters, Marcia Thornsberry and Mary Lou Crawford.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Peterson of Fair Grove, Missouri; an adopted daughter, Reta Moore of Georgia; an adopted son, Chris Baker of Columbia, Missouri; six nieces and six nephews.
Violet lived through the great depression and saw many changes in her ninety-four years on Earth. She will be missed by her family and friends that loved her.
Funeral services for Violet Baker will be Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Crocker Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Crocker Cemetery and donations may be left at the funeral home.
