Violet C Harper (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Violet C. Harper, 93 of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away Monday afternoon, July 18, 2011 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.
Violet was born February 23, 1918, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Edith “Cooper” Fowler. She attended High School in Mt. View, Missouri. Violet was married to Howard Farrar, had her only son, James, and divorced a short time later. She married Charles Harper, in Birch Tree, Missouri in 1949 and they spent over fifty happy years together. Violet was in Real Estate and insurance sales most of her life. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary, and was an avid volunteer for the Senior Center in Sedalia. For over twenty years she would go to the center every day to help out.
She is preceded in death by; her parents Harry and Edith, her sister in law Ruby Fowler, her only brother, Carl Fowler, and her only son James Farrar.
She is survived by her daughter in law; Barbara Farrar of Morrisville, Missouri, four grandsons; James Farrar, of Fair Grove, Missouri, Dennis Farrar, of Boca Raton, Florida, Steve Farrar, of Cane Hill, Missouri, and Ken Farrar, of De Soto, Missouri, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one niece Janice D. Othmar Peters, and two nephews Harry C. Fowler and Allan R. Fowler.
Graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00am, at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri, with Violet’s grandson, James Farrar, officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
Visitation will be held at the Butler Funeral Home from 9-9:30am.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association, c/o Butler Funeral Home-Bolivar, Missouri.
