Violet L. Harenza (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Violet Loretta Harenza, daughter of Lowell and Wilda Faye Moore Waterman, was born September 18, 1938, near Eldridge, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, January 30, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, four months, and twelve days.
On September 20, 1957, she was united in marriage to John Harenza, and to this union three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Matthew Harenza.
Violet is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, John, of the home; three sons, Mike Harenza, of Olathe, Kansas, Matt Harenza, and his wife, Theresa, of Carthage, Missouri, and Mark Harenza, and his wife, Sheri, of Osage Beach, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jessica, Regan, Jeremiah, Madison, and Macy; a sister, Sandra Massey, and her husband, Bobby, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Eldridge community, and then lived in Dove, Missouri for a time. She and John then made their home in Lebanon for a few years, before moving to Eldon, Missouri. Violet and John made their home in Eldon for thirty-seven years, and lovingly raised their sons. Violet was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also worked as a cook for the Eldon Public Schools for twenty-two years. Violet and John returned to Lebanon and made their home for the last twelve years.
Violet had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Ninth Street Christian Church in Eldon for many years. After returning to Lebanon, she transferred her membership to Southern Heights Christian Church.
She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, working crossword puzzles and liked doing puzzles on her Kindle tablet. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She was always interested in hearing the details of a story and was a very friendly person, who never had an enemy. Her simple philosophy of life was to always see the best in people.
Violet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-six years.
Memorial donations may be made to Hufft Cemetery or Southern Heights Christian Church.
