Virginia Dedmon's Obituary
I was born April 30, 1921 in Cedar Gap, Missouri to Harrison and Mary Jane Morris Matney. I lived most of my life in Cedar Gap, attending all eight grades of school. Then I went to Seymour High School and graduated in 1939. On August 23, 1941, I married G.A. Dedmon. We had three children, Sue, Bud, and Beth. I worked at Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory and the H.D. Lee Factory of Seymour, and retired from there in April 1983. I was a Republican Committeewoman for thirty years. I volunteered for Mansfield Head Start for several years. I liked to crochet, embroidery, quilt, work puzzles and really liked to fish!! I played cards with the grandkids and enjoyed going to Mansfield Jamboree and loved Gospel Music. I loved to sing and be with my family and friends. We moved to the farm that we bought in 1959 and we are still there. We raised our family, milked cows, and we always had a big garden. I was a member of the Lead Hill Freewill Baptist Church, and always enjoyed the singing and fellowship. I leave behind G.A., my husband of sixty-five years, Sue and her husband Roy Clouse of Mansfield, Bud, of Mansfield, and Beth and her husband Keith Barker, of Forsyth, Missouri. I had ten grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. And I loved them all. I was preceded in death by my parents, three brothers, four infant siblings, a granddaughter Jill, and many relatives and friends. LOVE YOU ALL!!!!! Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield. Burial will be in the Steele Memorial Cemetery, Hartville. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
