Virginia Pearl Devore (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Virginia Pearl Devore, daughter of Bland Ward and Mayme Williams Ward, was born July 25, 1944 near Hartville, Missouri. Virginia passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of her passing, she was seventy-eight years, seven months and twenty-four days of age.
Virginia was raised in Wright County and later moved to Lebanon, Missouri. She worked at Independent Stave Company, the Walnut Bowl Factory and finished her working career at Gaslight Manor caring for patients there. She also took care of elderly patients in their home.
On July 1, 1985, she was united in marriage to Everett Devore. He passed away May 5, 2005. In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy Farris; two great-grandchildren, Memphis Sherrer and Jailei Luke; two brothers, Verble Ward and Lester Ward; three sisters, Geneva Knapp, Dottie Barker and Norma Rogers.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Sevoy of Vidor, Texas and Maxine Sherrer of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Terry Ward of Lebanon, Missouri; her sister, Mary Rogers of Buffalo, Missouri; her brother, Jackie Ward and his wife, Carolyn of Phillipsburg, Missouri; her special niece, Wilma Ward of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Virginia followed the Pentecostal faith. She loved God and the family he had blessed her with. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and creating precious memories with them. She also was called upon to take care of her grandchildren, which she liked doing very much. She loved her flower garden, especially her roses and tulips. She also enjoyed her collection of porcelain dolls.
Virginia was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
