Virginia Alice Fleetwood (Seymour)'s Obituary
Virginia Alice Fleetwood, daughter of Chesley Earl and Bessie Rowena Myers Deeds was born November 15, 1929 in La Feira, Texas and departed this life on Monday, May 4, 2015 in Glenwood Healthcare Center in Seymour, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years, five months and nineteen days.
On June 19, 1950 she was united in marriage to Roy Fleetwood and to this union two daughters were born. Roy preceded her in death on October 10, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Chesley Melvin Deeds; two half-sisters, Jane Payne and Freda Perkins; a grandson-in-law, David Gustavson. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Nyla Sparks and husband Don of Dora, Missouri and Judy Moss and husband, Jim of Seymour, Missouri; five grandchildren, Teresa Gustavson & Ryan Rainville of Kansas City, Missouri, Tonya Sparks of Springfield, Missouri, Christy Hanks and husband of Gail of Springfield, Missouri, Heather Leann Akers of Seymour, Missouri, and Shawn Moss of Mansfield, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Emma Gustavson, Justin Moss, Charles Moss, Daniel Wayne Akers, twins, Kaleb and Kylie Cooley; sister, Dorlene Fields of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and neighbors. At a young age, Virginia moved with her family to Ava and was raised on Honey Creek Road. She was a graduate of Ava High School in the Class of 1947. She worked at Seymour Shoe Company for several years before going to the H.D. Lee Factory in Seymour, where she worked for 30 years until retiring. Virginia had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Seymour Nazarene Church. She was also the treasurer for OATS for 14 years. In her spare time, she played Bingo regularly, like to read, collect coffee cups and attend functions at the Seymour Senior Center. Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many wonderful memories that we had together.
