Virginia Louise Mincks (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Louise Mincks, age 76, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at her home in Bolivar.
She was born September 4, 1934 in Ava, Missouri. On April 21, 1958 she married Herman “Butch” Mincks in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a lifelong resident of Bolivar, Missouri.
Virginia received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate in 1971. After receiving her nursing license, she was a home health nurse for many years until 1992 when she and her daughter Shelly opened Blue Castle of the Ozarks Residential Care Facility. Virginia worked side by side with Shelly until her death. Blue Castle was one of her most cherished loves, after her family and friends. Virginia had a huge heart and enjoyed helping people.
She was baptized at Jefferson Bridge on Pomme de Terre River and later joined the Mt. Etna Baptist Church and was a current member at Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Cliquot, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Lucille Jarman and grandmother; Elizabeth Rose Doran.
She is survived by her husband; Herman “Butch” Mincks of the home, one son; Randy Nichols and his companion Cathy Lindberg of Springfield, Missouri, two daughters; Debbie Stiles and her husband Mike of Bolivar, Missouri, Shelly Redd and her husband Darren of Bolivar, Missouri, seven grandchildren; Nicholas, Christopher, Jonas, Nicole, Kim, Jeff, Stephen and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving is Beverly Nichols, who was like a daughter to Virginia of Eldorado Springs, MO and her granddog Diva, who she baby sat everyday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Neil Graham officiating. Musical selections will be “Why Me Lord” and “One Day At A Time” by Chris Taylor, “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Malinda Batten with Melisa Bowman playing the piano. A trumpet solo, “Amazing Grace” will be by Nicholas Nichols. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00pm, Tuesday evening at the Butler Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Stiles, Nicholas Nichols, Jonas Redd, Stephen Redd, Mike Stiles and Darren Redd.
