Vivian Jane Daniels' Obituary
Vivian Jane Daniels, daughter of Louis and Josephine Stremlau Gapski, was born January 24, 1934, in Peru, Illinois. She departed this life Thursday, October 4, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, eight months, and ten days. She was united in marriage to Guy Junior Daniels, and to this union one daughter and one son were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy, in 1985; her daughter, Sharon Lynne Williams; two brothers, Franklin and Louis; and two sisters, Clara and Eleanor. Vivian is survived by her son, Guy Jeffery Daniels, and his wife, Freeda, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son-in-law, Craig Williams, of Waldorf, Maryland; four grandsons, Brian, Chris, and Daniel Williams, and Cody Daniels; two brothers, Chester Gapski, of Oglesby, Illinois, and William Gapski, of Princeton, Illinois; five sisters, Veronica Macchi, of Palmdale, California, Irene Berg, of Streator, Illinois, Lillian Galetti, of Seatonville, Illinois, Henreitta Klerin, of Medota, Illinois, and Mary Lebhart, of Streator, Illinois; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Peru, Illinois area. After she and Guy were married, they made their home in various different places while Guy was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. They lived for several years in California, and then moved to Maryland, where Vivian spent most of her time. Eventually, Vivian moved to Lebanon, Missouri to be closer to her son. She had received training as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for a few years at Breech Medical Center in Lebanon. Vivian was raised in the Catholic faith and had attended St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandsons. Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2007, in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will be in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials to the American Heart Association may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
