Wade Rogers' Obituary
Wade Rogers, son of John William and Minnie West Rogers, was born January 26, 1920, in Camdenton, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, February 17, 2006, in Windsor Estates, in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, and twenty-one days. On January 16, 1940, he was united in marriage to Theo E. Cyrus, and to this union three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theo, on July 22, 2003; a son, John Rogers; a daughter-in-law, Becky Rogers; two brothers, Dick and Joe Rogers; and two sisters, Rosa and Lou Webster. Wade is survived by two sons, Jim Rogers, and Jerry Rogers, and his wife, Bertha, all of Camdenton, Missouri; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Camden County, Missouri. After he and Theo were married, they made their home in Kansas City for thirty years, while Wade worked at mills and also managed an apartment complex. In 1969, he and Theo retired to the Lake area, where Wade worked in road maintenance for the City of Camdenton for several years. Wade had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Webster Groves Missionary Baptist Church. He had been instrumental in helping to start a Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, growing a vegetable garden, tinkering, and doing woodworking projects. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wade was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2006, in the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
