Wallace Ross Gibbons (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Wallace Ross Gibbons, son of Oatie L. and Lera M. Watts Gibbons, was born, April 7, 1921 in Hannibal, Missouri. He departed this life, Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in his home, Linn Creek, Missouri at the age of ninety-four years young.
He is survived by one sister, Alma Powell and nieces and nephews, Barbara, Bob, Peggy, Bev, Karla, Joan, Terry, Judy, Dona, Dana, Cindy, Kathleen, Connie, and Larry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otie and Lera Gibbons; sisters and brothers, Ruby, Marietta, Iola, Leslie, Lucille, Thelma, Geraldine, Leo, and Harold and nine nieces and nephews.
Wally worked as an accountant for a car dealership in St. Louis for many years. He retired to the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was very active in the Camdenton Senior Center. He spent many hours enjoying playing cards and the company of friends made there. He served for many years on the Camden County Senior Citizens’ Services Tax Fund Board. When he lived in St. Louis, he was in the Big Brother Program and he enjoyed helping other people.
He had many great nieces and nephews who visited him, helped in different ways and enjoyed his company and stories about the family.
We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Monday in the funeral home. A second funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Smith Funeral Home and Chapel, Hannibal, Missouri with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Grand View Memorial Park, Hannibal.
Memorial donations may be made to Dogwood Animal Shelter and left at the funeral home.
