He departed this life Sunday, February 10, 2008, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, nine months, and nineteen days. On June 25, 1955, he was united in marriage to Glenda G. Lewis, and to this union two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Willis Jones, and an infant. Wallace is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Glenda, of the home; two daughters, Sherry Headley, and her husband, Sam, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Sharon Bennett, and her husband, Mike, of Billings, Missouri; five grandchildren, Samantha and Savannah Headley, Shawn, Shane, and Spencer Coffey; three sisters, Virginia Wood, and her husband, Marvin, of Lebanon, Missouri, Vergia Eagon, and her husband, Curtis, of Springfield, Missouri, and Vernia Chastain, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was raised in the Laclede County area and was graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1947. He was the shop foreman for Montgomery Motors for a few years and then also worked with Glenn Drake Garage. After he and Glenda were married, they made their home on their Registered Angus cattle farm near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their daughters. In addition to raising cattle, Wallace was also the instructor of the Auto Mechanics Department at the Laclede County Vocational School in Lebanon for twenty-five years, retiring in 1990. Wallace made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life and was a member of First Baptist Church. He always liked staying busy, enjoyed developing the sub-division by their home and even did concrete finishing work during the summer months. He particularly liked sitting on his front porch and keeping a watchful eye over the neighborhood. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Wallace was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he made for his family, his students, and many friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park.
