Wanda Elaine Cuatt (Seymour)'s Obituary
Wanda Elaine Cuatt, devoted wife of Gary Vernon Cuatt, peacefully departed this life Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her residence in Seymour, Missouri. Wanda was seventy-two years, eight months and six days of age. One of six children born to Arthur and Eunice (Calhoun) Caudle, she was born August 14, 1941, in Norwood, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by three children, son, Randy Wright; daughter, Connie (Wright) Lacy; daughter, Deborah (Wright) Walker; and her siblings, Vernon Caudle, Carl Caudle, Beverly Caudle and JoAnn Johns. Wanda leaves behind her loving husband of 30 years, Gary Cuatt of the home; her son, Jerry Wright and wife Diana, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; son, Andrew Cuatt of Hartville, Missouri; daughter, Jennifer Bishop of Columbia, Missouri; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Dottie Rowland and husband Vernon, of Reno, Nevada; sister-in-law, Laura Poore and husband Richard, of Springfield, Missouri; sister-in-law, Connie Lytle and husband Virgil, of Fordland, Missouri; and many more nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. Early on, Arthur Caudle moved his family west to California for work and several siblings would stay and build lives there, but Wanda returned to Central Missouri in the late 1970s. She was employed at Emerson in Ava, Missouri, and met her future husband Gary, while he worked at General Electric in Springfield, Missouri. They were wed by Reverend Roy Cantrell on December 23, 1983, and happily married for 30 years. Together they shared the joy of becoming foster parents and would care for 18 children. For several years in the early 1990s, the Cuatts owned and operated a bakery on the South side of the square in Seymour. Wanda later turned the bakery into Grandma’s Quilts until the space was sold and she brought the business to her home. Wanda was a dedicated wife and homemaker and devoted mother to her children. In her spare time she truly enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. Wanda Cuatt will be remembered as a strong and hard-working woman for all of her years. She was a loyal and devoted wife, an adored and loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister and true friend. We take this time on this day to honor her life and the legacy she leaves behind. Wanda – wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend – will be so deeply missed by all who were blessed enough to know and love her.
