Wanda Lee Jarrett (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Wanda Lee Jarrett, daughter of Herbert and Hazel Cooper Perkins, was born March 8, 1932, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She departed this life Friday, October 11, 2019, at her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, seven months, and three days.
On June 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Jarrett, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, on September 17, 2011; two brothers, Donald and Earl; and a sister, Pat.
Wanda is survived by a daughter, Linda Susan Jaynes, and her husband, Steve, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Robert Lynn Jarrett, and his wife, Sharon, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ryan, Brian, and Cody; four great-grandchildren, Nora Ruth, Jadzia, Daxen, and Torias; a brother, Bill Perkins, and his wife, Mattie, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and a many friends.
She was born and raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and then graduated from high school in Ava, Missouri, in the Class of 1950. After she and Bob were married, they made their home in Mountain Grove, Missouri for a time. They then moved to Pekin, Illinois before returning to Missouri. They lived in Slater, Missouri, for awhile, and then moved to Lebanon, where they opened and managed Anthony Department Store for twenty-five years. Wanda was also the bookkeeper for the store. Through the years, she was always a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
She was very active in the Lebanon V.F.W. Post # 4107 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, and fishing, and liked quilting in her quiet times. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
