Wanda Orbin's Obituary
Wanda M. Hoover Orbin, daughter of Marion A. (Ott) and Minnie Findley Moody, was born April 14, 1930 in Mansfield, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, three months, and twenty-nine days. Early in life, Wanda was married to Ted Hoover and to this union three sons were born. On May 11, 1975, Wanda was united in marriage to Walter Orbin and together they have shared the past thirty-three years. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Morris, Lynn, and Junior Moody; and the father of her three sons, Ted Hoover. Wanda is survived by her husband, Walt, of the home; three sons, Jake Hoover and his wife, Linda, Ernie Hoover and his wife, Connie, and David Hoover and his wife, Lori, all of Mansfield, Missouri; one granddaughter, Paige Hoover; two brothers, Ellis Moody and his wife, Marla, of Taneyville, Missouri, and her twin brother, Wayne Moody and his wife, Dorothy, of Seymour, Missouri; two step-daughters, Bonnie Hendren and her husband, John, of Madison, Missouri, and Penny Neeson and her husband, Randy, of Clark, Missouri; one step-son, Mike Orbin of the State of Texas; a brother-in-law, David Orbin and his wife, Donna, of Macon, Missouri; six step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Wanda spent most of her younger years living in the Mansfield area. She had spent time working at the Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield as well as the H.D. Lee Plant in Seymour. Wanda had accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was a member of the Mansfield First Freewill Baptist Church. Before falling ill, Wanda loved to go fishing, cooking for her family and friends, going to yard sales, and taking care of her cats. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday August 16, 2008 in the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Mansfield. Burial will be in the Ashley Cemetery. Visitation will start at 10:30 am Saturday until service time under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Mansfield, Missouri. Return to top
