Wanda Elaine Osborn (Buffalo)'s Obituary
In the late 1940s, a woman named Pearl had given serious study in the hope of joining the ministry. Her pastoral ambitions took a back seat when her daughter, Wanda Elaine Cox, was born November 1, 1950 in Los Angeles, California.
Stricken with polio at a young age, she faced the challenge head-on with the love and support of her parents, a vaccine courtesy of Jonas Salk and (possibly) story-time with Marlon Brando.
In her early adulthood, Wanda found her way to Missouri via Sweet Home, Oregon, a place, though she stayed briefly, held a special corner of her heart.
Upon her Missouri arrival, she met Bobby Osborn and a few years later, the pair were wed in December of 1980. A decade later, her son Levi was born in the inaugural weeks of the 90s.
Wanda spent the intervening years guiding and raising her son, being involved in her local Assemblies of God church for nearly thirty years and caring for two Shih Tzu pups. Both were her best buddies and, coincidentally, both were called Buddy.
On August 14, 2024, Wanda Elaine Osborn, after a long battle with cancer and illness, passed away in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Pearl Cox, brother William Lee Sheppard and step-son Adam Osborn.
She is survived by her husband Bobby, son Levi, nieces Candace Shouse, Elizabeth Shouse and Rebekah Hoffman, nephews William Leroy Sheppard and Clinton Sheppard and a host of friends who are sad to see her go, but happy to see her in time.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo. A time of visitation will be held the hour prior to the service. Following all services, Wanda will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery, Tunas, Missouri.
