Wanda Sherrer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Wanda Lois Sherrer, daughter of the late Lee Roy Harrell and Violet Roberta English Harrell, was born September 1, 1939 in Eldridge, Missouri. She passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years and fourteen days.
She spent her early years in the Windyville and Plad, Missouri areas. She then moved to Lebanon and married her true love and best friend, Robert “Bobby Joe” Sherrer. They were married on Christmas Day in 1955. Following their marriage, they moved to Kansas City where they resided for several years before returning to Lebanon. They celebrated nearly sixty-one years of love and happiness before he passed away on December 8, 2016.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers, Devon, Kenneth, Herbert, Loren and Billy; and her sisters, Ruby, Lorena, Daisy, Thelma, and Druscilla.
Wanda is survived by her sons, Donnie Sherrer and his wife Mary of Republic, Missouri, Ronnie Sherrer of Morgan, Missouri, Dwight Sherrer and his wife Terri and Dwayne Sherrer and his wife Lisa, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jesse, Roger, Jordan and Abby; two great-grandchildren, Jaelyn and Arlen; a brother, Robert Dale Harrell of Lebanon, Missouri; her sisters, Patricia Ann Hough, Marilyn Jean Moore, both of Lebanon, Missouri, Brenda Joyce Edson of Blue Springs, Missouri and Kathy Sue Turney of Richmond, Missouri; and host of other relatives and friends.
Wanda had a great appreciation for antiques and owned her own flea market for ten years. Her friends and family always knew where she stood on any particular topic or situation. She also loved Elvis. She loved his music, his movies, everything about him.
Wanda devoted her life to her family and being a wonderful homemaker. She loved her family so much and was thrilled when she became a grandma and great-grandma.
She was a hard working lady and always supportive of her family and loved ones. She was present in their lives in a meaningful way. She loved having the family together for special occasions. Her loss is deeply felt by her family and she will be so missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral Services for Wanda Sherrer will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Holman Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Holman Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, MO. Burial will take place at Dotson Cemetery.
Memorial for Wanda Sherrer may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
