Wanda D Spradling (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Wanda Delores Spradling, 79, of Long Lane, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Wanda was born on June 18, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late James and Mary (Dwiggins) Hogan. She was a faithful member of Green Mountain Missionary Baptist Church, where she was saved and joined the church in April 2004. Her faith remained an important part of her life and guided her every day. Over the years, Wanda held many jobs and worked hard in all she did. She owned and operated a convenience store in Lonedell, Missouri, worked as a pharmacy technician, and served in a school cafeteria. Her favorite job of all, though, was her last — serving as a foster grandparent at Mallory Elementary School. She loved going to the school and seeing “her kids.” Wanda couldn’t wait for summer break to end each year because those children brought her so much joy, laughter, and purpose. Wanda found happiness in the simple things — fishing on a quiet day, crocheting for her loved ones, and spending time with her family. She had a big heart, a warm smile, and a deep love for those around her. Above all else, Wanda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and granny who cherished her family beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Hogan, and her husband, Kenneth Spradling. Wanda’s memory will live on through her children: Lisa Graf, Tammie Spradling-Young and husband Randy, Sarah Boyd and husband Shawn, Crystal Thomas and husband Jimmy, Sarah Lyon and husband Robert, and Daniel Spradling and wife Rebecca. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Samantha Petersen and husband Seth, Wrangler Boyd, Abigail and Timmie Thomas, Robert Jr., Emmett, Bella, Addie Lyon, Ben Mings, and Nathan Spradling; and by her great-grandchildren, Everly and Forrest Petersen. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the funeral home, with Brother Troy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Four Mile Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Green Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, Missouri.
