Wauline Dixon (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Wauline Wave Dixon, daughter of William and Serena Claxton Thornhill, was born December 9, 1917 near Grovespring, Missouri and departed this life on June 10, 2013 in Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years, six months and one day.
On June 15, 1935 she was united in marriage to Gene Dixon and to this union three children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, on May 7, 1994, two sisters, Bessie and Freda, one brother, Glenn, and a son-in-law, Dennis McNealy.
Wauline is survived by one son, Bobby Dale Dixon and his wife, Helen of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters, Betty Still and her husband Willard of Waco, Texas, and Sharon McNealy of Mansfield, Missouri; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a fourth one on the way; a niece, Charlene Walters of Grovespring, Missouri; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Grovespring area and after she married Gene they made their home there until moving to Mansfield in the early 1940’s where she lived the rest of her life. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and had worked as a clerk at the MFA Supermarket, Olds Brothers Store and Richards Brothers Supermarket all in Mansfield.
Wauline had made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a longtime member of the Mansfield First Baptist Church and also a member of the Willing Workers Club.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Wauline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend.
We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will always cherish the wonderful memories.
