Waylene McKay Jones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Waylene McKay Jones, daughter of Clifford Wayne and Betty Nunnley McKay, was born May 1, 1954, in Yuma, Arizona. She departed this life Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in her home, near Eldridge, Missouri, at the age of fifty-nine years, three months, and twenty-six days.
On September 29, 1986, she was united in marriage to Ellis G. Jones, and they shared the last twenty-six years.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a half-brother, Matthew.
Waylene is survived by her husband, Ellis, of the home; five daughters, Donna Mathis, and her husband, Jimmy, of Waynesville, Missouri, Gayle Carsten, and her husband, Kevin, of Ozark, Missouri, Stacy Davis, and her husband, Ron, of Springfield, Missouri, Brandy Franklin, of Salina, Kansas, and Amber Rose, of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Chance, Cody, Dakota, Derby, Alexis, Abigayle, Andrew, and Donivan; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt, and Jackson; her mother, Betty McClain, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Karen Horn, of Hermitage, Missouri, and Betsie Rider, of Yuma, Arizona; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Yuma, Arizona, and then moved with her family to Southern California, where she graduated from high school. She attended a business college for awhile, and then lived on the East Coast for several years. She then made her home in the Lebanon, Missouri, area for most of her life. Waylene was a devoted homemaker and mother, and also worked for Marathon Electric for thirty years.
Waylene had a deep spiritual faith, and had attended the Laclede County Cowboy Church.
She was always willing to help others, and was an excellent caregiver. She had volunteered at Dove Senior Citizen Home and at Christian Health Care South in Lebanon. She enjoyed farm life, helped with the chores on the farm, and particularly liked horses. She loved her family dearly and always put the needs of others ahead of her own.
Waylene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations to the New Home Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund may be left at the funeral home.
