Wayne Allen Bartee Sr. (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Wayne Allen Bartee, Sr. son of the late Nova (Bartee) McCoy, was born on March 26, 1944 in Wood Hill, MO, and departed this life on December 7, 2017 at his home near Tunas, MO. At the time of his passing he was 73 years, 8 months, and 10 days of age.
Wayne was raised by his grandparents Jessie and Mary Bartee. He attended school in Wood Hill and Tunas. After his schooling, he moved to Marshall, MO to live with his sister. He worked as a handyman on a large farm. While living in Marshall, he met Ruby Jean Logan. They were united in marriage in 1970, on his birthday in Carrolton, MO, and to this union two children were born, both of whom survive him. Wayne loved tinkering with old cars, and had rebuilt a 1922 Model T and a 1929 Model A. In his earlier years, he enjoyed taking rides in an airplane with his uncle Ernie Carr. Wayne also enjoyed hunting with a black powder rifle. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Cherry Grove Church.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Nova McCoy; one brother, Kenneth McCoy; and one sister, Shirley Jasper. He is survived by his wife Ruby of the home; his son, Wayne Allen Bartee, Jr. of Buffalo, MO; his daughter, Mary Ann Scott of Tunas, MO; one brother, Lonnie McCoy of Bolivar, MO; two sisters, Pearl Scrivener of Tunas, MO and Georgia Tuning of Springfield, MO; and one grandson, Herbert Alanzo Scott II. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Cremation rites were accorded under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Private family services will be held at a later date.
