Wayne Ira Kester (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Wayne Ira Kester, son of the late Walter and Eunice (Keeler) Kester, was born on December 14, 1946 in Willow Springs, MO and departed this life on September 13, 2023 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 76 years, eight months, and 29 days of age.
Wayne was reared in Willow Springs and attended a one room school in Burnham, MO. He graduated from Willow Springs High School and went to continue his education at a diesel mechanic school in Kansas City. While he was in school, he worked as a Butcher. He was united in marriage to Marie Brennan on January 9, 1967 and to this union two children were born. Wayne was a life-long farmer and began his dairy career while in Willow Springs. After Marie’s passing in 2011, he met and later married Susan Rutledge on April 19, 2013. He loved his farm and spent many hours in the fields and taking care of his cattle. He enjoyed floating, motorcycle trail riding, and fishing. He was a long-time member of the Community Southern Baptist Church in Fair Grove, MO.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie; and one sister, Freda. He is survived by his wife Susan of the home; one son, Chris & wife Tammy Kester of Collinsville, IL; one daughter, Carolyn & husband Barry Baskin of Springfield, MO; three step-sons, Richard & wife Mandy Howard of Salt Lake City, UT, Billy & Debra Howard of Springfield, MO, and Danny Hand of Potosi, MO; one step-daughter, Elmina & husband Rayno Narducci of Morrisville, MO; his grandchildren, Brandon Kester, Jordan Lucas, Dylan Lucas, Zachary Baskin, Katie Kratzer, Christian Kester, Daniel Kester, Miranda Howard, Ashlyn Howard, Kenyan Howard, Kaitlyn Howard, Kylie Turner, Sara Turner, Shelby & wife Tyler Turner, Guy Hale, Justin Reed, Corey Marlay, Taylor Crase, Cyrus Narducci, and Channelle Narducci; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Nelson and Marvin Michael Kester and one sister, Barbara Faye & husband Kirk Bennett. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Visitation for Wayne Ira Kester will be Sunday, September 17 from 3- 5 p.m. at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets in Buffalo, Missouri. Services will be Monday, sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at Community Southern Baptist Church in Fair Grove, Missouri. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Fair Grove.
