Wayne Melching (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Wayne Leo Melching, son of Wyman and Helen Duester Melching, was born May 31, 1947, in Red Bud, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday, February 1, 2018, in his home, at the age of seventy years and eight months.
He was united in marriage to Karen Schad, in 1978, and shared his life with her until her passing in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Wayne is survived by two sons, Raymond H. Melching and John Wayne Melching, both of the State of Illinois; two brothers, Stanley and Glenn Melching; his church family at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon; as well as a host of other friends.
He was born and raised in Red Bud, Illinois and enjoyed growing up on a farm. He and Karen moved to the Lebanon area in 2012. He worked construction doing concrete work most of his life.
Wayne was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon, Missouri. Church was his life and he was very active in all phases of the church. He also shared his love of Christ with others through the nursing home ministry. He was a fixture in the kitchen at church and always wanted to help out in any way possible. He was even filled with joy when he was doing dishes.
He was devoted to his wife during their marriage. He was never afraid to help around the house and support his wife in any way she needed. He also enjoyed going to flea markets in his spare time.
Wayne will be fondly remembered for his dedication to Christ and his passion for bringing the good news of Jesus to those in his community. He was an inspiration to those who knew and loved him during his seventy years.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
