Wayne Owens' Obituary
Wayne Eugene Owens, son of Charley Chester and Nora Myrtle (Mace) Owens, was born January 28, 1947, near Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in his home, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years and seventeen days.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Sharon Marie, two brothers, Archie and Bobby Owens, and a grandson, Dallas Freman.
Wayne is survived by his companion, Susie Rhodes, of the home; his three children, Tammy Senyard, of Camdenton, MO., Melinda Elam, of Warsaw, MO., and Jacob Owens, of Mountain Grove, MO.; six grandchildren, Ryan Harker, Travis Harker, Johnny Rose, Cody Harker, Krista Harker and Brittney Olds; his mother, Nora Owens, of Hartville, MO.; three brothers, Charley Cook and Jerry Owens, both of McLouth, KS., and Jack Owens, of Marshfield, MO.; three sisters, Darlene Gardner, of Shawnee, KS, Wanda Beeler, of Chadwick, MO., and Sandra DeBoard, of Durant, OK; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Born in Hartville, he lived most of his life in the Wright County area. Through the years he cut and sold wood to area residents. He loved being in the outdoors. He cared for his family and enjoyed spending time with them. In his spare time he liked taking camping and fishing trips, working on his car, gardening and caring for his lawn.
Wayne was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. We treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Owens Will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville, Missouri, with burial to follow in Murr cemetery, in Texas County.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm Friday evening February 18 in Holman-Howe Chapel.
Memorials have benn established to the family and may be made through the funeral home.
