Willa Lucille Orrell (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Willa Lucille (Barclay) Orrell was born April 17, 1934, and went to be with Jesus on December 1, 2018, at the age of 84. She was born in Tunas, Missouri to Lester Albert Barclay and Truma (Branford) Barclay, the first girl after nine boys! She graduated from Tunas High School in 1951, having just turned seventeen, then went to Kansas City to work at Farmers Insurance. She later transferred to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she met and married Glenn Orrell of Bolivar, Missouri, on March 2, 1954.
Willa was saved at an early age and was a lifelong member of Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church of Tunas, where she taught many children in Sunday School and Bible School. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Tunas Elementary School, as well as working on the family dairy farm. She was a wonderful cook and an avid quilter!
Willa was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, her parents, Lester and Truma Barclay, two infant brothers, Delbert and Ellis, six older brothers, Wilburn, Aubrey, Loren, Max, Jack, and Gilbert, and two sisters, Lola Davison and Hope Todd. She is survived by two sons Jim Orrell and wife Rhonda of Tunas, Wesley Orrell and wife Gayla of Southerlin, Oregon, one daughter Gayla Button and husband Carl of Urbana and two brothers, Paul Barclay of Colorado and Pete Barclay of Tunas. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Adam Button, Timothy Orrell, Alicia Asher and husband J.T., Kimberly Harp and husband Josh, and one step granddaughter, Alissa Bolling, three great-grandchildren, Tate Shockley, Maylee Shockley and Jackson Orrell, one step great-granddaughter, Makenna Shockley, as well as a host of nieces and nephews that will truly miss her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church in Tunas, Mo with Pastor Tony Butcher officiating. Escorts will be Adam Button, J.T. Asher, Josh Harp, Buck Shockley, Tim Orrell, and Cody Howe. Interment will be at the Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home in Urbana, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hopewell Cemetery Fund and to the Skyline Elementary Library Fund.
