Willda Trent (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Willda Lavina Trent, daughter of Fred Leo and Olive Wilson Prater, was born September 11, 1929, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, December 13, 2016, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, three months, and two days.
On April 10, 1948, she was united in marriage to Rowland Oliver Trent, and to this union three daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rowland, on May 15, 2006; and four brothers, Walter, Josephus, Orville, and Stanley Prater.
Willda is survived by three daughters, Minnie C. Blankenship, of Kerman, California, O. Alene Thomas, of Elk Grove, California, and Willda A. Trout, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Rowland L. Trent, of Fresno, California, Audie O. Trent, of Clovis, California, and Lonnie J. Trent, of Independence, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosa Marie Barber, of Kansas City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Lebanon and was raised in the Eldridge community. She then lived in Lebanon where she met and married Rowland. After they were married, they moved to California and made their home in Mendota for a number of years. Willda was a devoted homemaker to her husband and a loving mother to her children. After Rowland retired, they moved back to Lebanon and enjoyed their retirement years. Willda worked at the Dollar General Store in Lebanon for several years.
Willda had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church near Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, working jigsaw, crossword and word search puzzles. She loved animals of all kinds and had an aquarium for several years. She loved her family dearly, made them the center of her life, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Willda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will remember the good times and hold those memories close in their heart.
