William Wayne Deason, age 83, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri due to fatal injuries sustained in an accident at his home. He was born on August 27, 1926 in Taft, California to Cecil Russian Deason and Rena West Deason. Wayne grew up in Licking, Missouri, served in the United States Army during World War II, and later moved to Colorado to raise his family. He worked in construction and at the Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado before retirement in 1991. He returned to southern Missouri to enjoy his retirement residing in Bolivar. He loved the outdoors, fishing and gardening and was very active in his church and the senior community. He was also a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He was married to Marcella Young on September 13, 1947, for 58 years and had three children, Michael, James and Patricia. He lost Marcella on July 10, 2005 after a long illness but soon fell in love with Christena Williams and was married March 18, 2006, acquiring a second family that he loved and was devoted to. Wayne was preceded in death by his first wife Marcella in 2005, his two sons, Michael in 2007 and James in 2003, and his sister, Ruth Mooney. He is survived by his wife, Christena Deason, his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Dowell and John Huddle, daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and David Hamp, daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Randy Clark, and daughter-in-law, Ginger Deason, and a step-son, Paul Edward Williams of Bolivar, Missouri. He is survived by 18 grandchildren, Melissa Dowell, Jessica Huddle and Johnny Huddle of Denver, Colorado, David Deason and Katherine Deason of Ft. Worth, Texas, Brian and Mallory Deason of San Antonio, Texas, Tripp Deason of Washington, DC, Dewayne and Caitlin Miner of Burmingham, Alabama, Colt Hamp and Jimmy Clark of Bolivar, Missouri, Cheryl Castel, John Miner and Tom Miner of Silt, Colorado, Max Poulter and Tina and Doug May of Springfield, Missouri, Ernie Miner of Clever, Missouri, Marcelia Fairbanks and Christena Eakin of Illinois. There are 11 surviving great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Gary Ankrom officiating. A visitation will be from 5-6pm, Monday evening at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Wayne’s final resting place will be at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri with military Honors provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri.
