William "Bill" Adams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William “Bill” Arthur Adams, son of William C. and Grace E. Luther Adams, was born January 12, 1937, in San Francisco, California. He departed this life Saturday, August 22, 2020, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, seven months, and ten days.
On August 9, 1979, he was united in marriage to Carol Jean Farris, and they shared the last forty-one years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Katherine McLaughlin; a step-son, Michael McLaughlin; and a sister, Carol.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; a daughter, Carol Jolene Adams, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, James D. Adams, of the State of California; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the San Francisco Bay area, and graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California. He entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Navy for several years. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Bill made his home in Groveland, California where he worked as a journeyman electrician in the building industry for a number of years. In the mid 1980’s, he and Carol moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home. Bill worked at Independent Stave Company and then for Detroit Tool and Engineering Company until retiring in 2010.
Bill was raised in the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed traveling, back packing, and driving back county roads. He also liked street rods and motorcycles. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and donations may be left at the funeral home.
