William "Bud" Blue (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William “Bud” Blue, son of Glen B. and Edith M. Brown Blue, was born October 7, 1943, near Eldridge, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years and twenty-six days.
On June 30, 1961, he was united in marriage to Sherlie M. Blattel, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-granddaughter, Naomi Joy Pendergrass; and a brother, Danny Blue.
Bud is survived by his wife, Sherlie, of the home; a daughter, Teresa Barber, and her husband, Doug, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Glen Blue, and his wife, Lori, of Lebanon, Missouri; four granddaughters, Kayla, Brittany, Chrisi, and Tiffanie; a step-grandson, Tyler; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Blue, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Glenna Taylor, of Troy, Missouri, Iva Stack, of Battlefield, Missouri, and Judy Weitkemper, of Columbia, Missouri; a special sister-in-law, that was like a daughter to him, Louetta Cromer, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Eldridge community. He attended grade school in Eldridge and then graduated from Lebanon High School. He began a career as a machinist and worked for Appleby Boats and then Landau Boats for several years. Later, he worked for Cambarloc Engineering and Manufacturing Company and retired from Gemco Engineering in 2007.
Bud professed his faith in Christ early in his life and attended Eldridge Full Gospel Church through the years. He particularly enjoyed the fellowship his home church offered during his last several months.
He was a very gifted guitarist and enjoyed playing both country and gospel music. He also enjoyed doing woodworking projects of all kinds and taking care of his lawn. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
William was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his seventy-two years.
Contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Ministry, and left at the funeral home.
