William J Cantrell (Seymour)'s Obituary
William Joseph “Bill” Cantrell, age 90 a lifelong Seymour resident, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, following a short illness. He was born Wednesday, September 21, 1927 in Seymour to Robert Cantrell and Sarah Josephine (Young ) Cantrell.
Bill served in the United States Army and had been a self-employed heavy equipment operator. On September 4, 1943 he was united in marriage to Emma Gene Smith and to this union four children were born. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed his membership at the Marshfield Golf Course as long as he was able.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma Gene; a sister Velda Wright; a brother Johnny “Obe” Cantrell; a son Larry Cantrell and two daughters Cheryll Cantrell and Dixie Workman.
Surviving Bill is his daughter and son-in-law Dea & Dan Schuder of Fordland; two brothers and sisters-in-law Rev. Roy Cantrell and wife Arnita of Seymour and LD Cantrell and wife Mary of Monett; a son-in-law Darrell Workman of Lawrence, Kansas; a daughter-in-law Donna Cantrell of Seymour; 5 grandchildren Katrina Kirkland and husband Greg of Mansfield, Kelly Schuder of Ozark,Bobby Joe Cantrell of Seymour, Toby Workman and wife Sally of Kansas City, Kansas and Robin Porter and husband Terry of Phoenix, Arizona along with 15 great grandchildren, Tucker, Courtney, Lexi, Molly, Lauren, Bobby Sue, Dalton, Kaley, Brandon, Isaac, Eli, Danny, Justin, Brent and Brandon.
