I didn’t know him well but still, he held a place in my life. I met Bill and Peggy a handful of times in my teenage years and I remember seeing them together and thinking, “wow those two are what people dream about.” In so many ways, he has this incredible life story of hard work and devotion. But more than that their marriage was, and still is, an inspiration. Married for almost 65 years, which alone is impressive. Yet that wasn’t what struck me, the way they were together, it was like watching a movie. They fit together so smoothly, truly made for each other. When I was just 15 I went and visited them and I remember thinking, “I don’t want to date around, I don’t want the silly flings, I want this.” True love. The perfect partnership.
So I guess this post is a thank you to a man who inspired me to find my true love. Also for giving me my pretty cool step-dad.
A life here lost is Heavens gain. Wishing Peggy, Mark and family the knowledge that you will meet again and live will remain.
A loving and caring father and grandfather. And, for nearly 65 years a loving and devoted husband. We will all miss you deeply. Mark and Kimberly Clemons.

Deepest sadness, Peggy for your loss. I know how it is. You know, I'm available to help if needed.
