William Craig Nolan Van Patten (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William Craig Nolan Van Patten, son of Mark Nolan and Rita Fay (Houser) Van Patten, was born September 28, 1984, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in St. Mary’s Health Center, in Jefferson City, Missouri, at the age of twenty-six years, five months, and ten days.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Otis Houser; his paternal grandfather, George Van Patten; his paternal great-grandparents, George and Mildred Van Patten; and a first cousin, Matthew Berry.
Will is survived by his companion, Sandy Weber, of the home; his mother, Rita Houser, and Eric Avant, of Jefferson City, Missouri; his father, Mark Van Patten, and his wife, Regina, of Tebbetts, Missouri; a sister, Kimberly Heislen, and her husband, Kyle, of Jefferson City, Missouri; three nephews; his maternal grandmother, Orpha Houser, of Lebanon, Missouri; his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Sayles, and her husband, Bob, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Lebanon and was raised in Waynesville, before the family moved to Jefferson City in 1993. In his early adult years, he mainly worked in the food service business, and during this time, he met and fell in love with Sandy.
Will made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized at the age of twelve.
“Billy”, as he was called by his family, was an independent thinker with great entrepreneurial aspirations. He was a very kind and compassionate individual who was always willing to help someone in need. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh.
He was very artistic, liked drawing, and enjoyed writing poetry and song lyrics. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He also liked being with his friends and having fun.
Will was a loving companion, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and cousin, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and friends and they will treasure the wonderful memories of him in their hearts.
