William Densford (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William Howard Densford, son of William W. and Ruth L. Ford Densford, was born February 16, 1935, in Yuma, Colorado.  He departed this life Monday, January 29, 2018, with his wife by his side, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation, at the age of eighty-two years, eleven months, and fourteen days.
On August 18, 1955, he was united in marriage to Alberta Jean Newkirk, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
William is survived by his wife, Jean, of the home; a daughter, Laura Kitts, of Lynchburg, Virginia; a son, Daryl Densford, and his wife, Holly, of Lebanon, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Jordan, Hannah, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Olivia, Julia, and Heidi; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Gabriel, and Isaac; two brothers, Robert “Bob” Densford, and his wife, Sharon, of Glendora, California and Byron Densford, and his wife, Charlotte, of Santee, California; a sister, Marilyn Newcomer, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He grew up in Norwood, Ohio, and, after graduating from high school, earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.  He also received a Master’s Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  He began his teaching career in Cincinnati, Ohio and taught elementary school there for most of his life.  In 1997, he and his family moved to Lynchburg Virginia for a time.  In 2014, he and Jean settled in Lebanon, Missouri.
William was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Norwood, Ohio and Madison Heights, Virginia. He was very active in all phases of church work. He was involved in the youth ministry and his faith was central to his life.  He had attended Freedom Church of the Nazarene in Lebanon.
He was described as being cheerful and positive.  He had a keen sense of humor and loved “corny” jokes.  He was very well liked and especially enjoyed collecting State quarters and was always on the hunt for different ones.  William loved his family and particularly loved spending Christmas time with them.  His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have fond memories of him reading Christmas stories every year. He would always read “The Night Before Christmas” and the real story of Christmas from the Bible.
William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his eighty-two years.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Church of the Nazarene, and left at the funeral home.
