William W. Hufft (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William Wayne Hufft, son of Orville and Leona Tennison Hufft, was born August 7, 1931, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eight months, and twelve days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Willard, and Charles Hufft; and a nephew, Leland Hufft.
Wayne is survived by a sister, Bonnie Darrow, of Lebanon, Missouri; his companion, Sharlene Grimes, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Lella Hufft, of Lebanon, Missouri; three nieces, Linda Copeland and Treva Lund, both of Springfield, Missouri, and Becky Burk, of Lebanon, Missouri; a nephew, Ronnie Williams, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri, and attended the Reagan School before graduating from Lebanon High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps from February 12, 1952 until February 11, 1954, during the Korean War. He then was placed in the Marine Corps Reserves until February of 1960. He was very proud of his military service and of being a Marine Corporal. After being discharged from the military, Wayne returned to Lebanon and began working as a security officer for Breech Medical Center. He also worked security for several other Lebanon businesses and car dealerships throughout the years.
Wayne made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized at the age of twelve.
He was a talented musician and loved playing the fiddle. He had played bluegrass and gospel music in several bands around the Lebanon area over the years. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his nieces and nephew.
Wayne was a loving brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
