William "Jack" Blair (Bolivar)'s Obituary
William Jackson “Jack” Blair, age 84, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Sunday, June 22nd, 2014 at his home in Bolivar.
Jack was born on August 3, 1929 in Roanoke, Missouri to Kelsey and Katherine(Harris) Blair.
He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1947 and went to work for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department. Jack was a Sr. Construction inspector of Highways and Bridges in District 5, working in Boonville, Rockport, Columbia and Camdenton. He retired in 1990 after 43 years. He loved sports and played for and later managed his home town baseball team “The Armstrong Eagles”. Jack was a member of the Bolivar First Baptist Church and especially enjoyed the “Sellebration” Sunday School Class. He liked to quail hunt, do woodworking, gardening and yard work. 41 years of his life was spent in Camdenton, Missouri. In 2005, Jack left all of that behind to move to Bolivar, Missouri where he could attend the Grandkid’s sporting events and be near family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jane.
Jack is survived by his wife, Nathaleen; his daughter, Debbie Drinkard and her husband Mike of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a son, Chuck Blair and his wife Sonnie of Bolivar; 3 grandsons, Shaun Drinkard and his wife Carolyn of Tampa, Florida; Colt Blair and his wife Crystal of Bolivar; Spencer Blair of Springfield, Missouri; a granddaughter, Hayley Blair of Bolivar; a brother, Robert Blair and his wife Nancy of Polo, Missouri; and a sister, Barbara Blair of Fayette, Missouri.
