William Kershner's Obituary
William James Kershner, age 78 of Dunnegan, MO passed away at 4:38 AM Sunday, November 28, 2010 at his home after a lingering illness. He was born on December 26, 1931 in Ava, MO the son of William James Kershner and Marion Marie (Wilson) Kershner. James was a 1946 graduate of Central High School in Springfield, MO. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and served aboard the U.S.S. Bushnell. On Jan. 26, 1952 he was united in marriage to Rosalea Whitman in California. To this union 7 children were born. The family moved to California in 1962 where they raised their family in the Riverside, CA. James worked in the oil refinery industry for an Oil Company. After leaving California they moved to Arkansas where he owned a dairy farm before returning to his home in Missouri. James owned River Valley Sales south of Bolivar where he manufactured Trailers for many years, before his retirement. Surviving is his wife Rosalea of the couples home, three sons, Harold Steven Kershner of Glen Avon, CA; Kyle Kershner of Victorville, CA; and Bobby Jack Kershner of Bolivar, MO. Also two daughters, Roberta Ahern of Bolivar, MO and Diane Pelton of Mountain Ranch, CA. His 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Friday evening, December 3, 2010 from 5-7 PM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lyle Shaulis officiating. Musical selections will be ?Amazing Grace? and ?I Can Only Imagine?. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbearers will be Chris Kershner, Steven Kershner, Brandon Tait, Stanley Ahern, Richard Sanders and Lary Garzee.
