William Lunsford's Obituary
William Darris Lunsford, son of George Albert and Ila Chole Burns Lunsford, was born October 6, 1929 in Grovespring, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years and twenty-four days. On September 27, 1993, William was united in marriage to Joanne Jones and together they have shared the past fifteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ricky. William is survived by his wife Joanne of the home; a daughter, Renae Lee and husband Jim of Casper, Wyoming; a son, Randy Lunsford of the state of California; four step-daughters, Rhonda and Brian Maroney of Conway, Missouri, Tammy and Dwayne Beasley of Grovespring, Missouri; Kim and Wade Perryman of Grovespring, Missouri, Reggie and Bryon Bohannon of Falcon, Missouri; two step-sons, Scotty and Carol Jones of Niangua, Missouri and Eric and Nicki Jones of Grovespring, Missouri; two brothers, Bob Lunsford and wife Randi of Conway, Missouri and Lawrence Lunsford and wife Mary of Marshfield, Missouri; three sisters, June Lee of Niangua, Missouri, Helen and Bill Hopper of Marshfield, Missouri, Sue and Pall Buttram of Marshfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. William was an Army veteran and retired from Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, Iowa after working there for thirty years. He attended Pleasant View Church in Grovespring as long as his health permitted. William loved to camp and was an avid clock and knife collector. He also loved spending time with his two dogs, as well as playing his guitar. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Services will be at 1:30 pm Monday November 3, 2008 at the Holman-Howe Funeral home. Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Hartville, Missouri.A memorial has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
