William "Floyd" Murray (Bolivar)'s Obituary
William “Floyd” Murray, 92, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at his home in Buffalo, MO. He was the husband of Connie Murray, and they shared 28 wonderful years together.
Floyd was born near Wishart, MO on February 21, 1933, to Tom O. and Zelma Euliss Murray. He attended Marion C. Early High School graduating in 1950. He worked for Drake Dairy, the cheese plant in Bolivar and was then employed for 25 years at Dayco in Springfield as a rubber manufacturing technician. He also worked for Willard Schools before retiring in 1995. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and made it clear to his family he was ready to go home to be with his Lord and Savior!
Floyd was an avid trapper, hunter, fisherman and hobby farmer. He was known to be the best at finishing beaver pelts and noodling some of the largest flat head catfish in the area. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and loved his trips to Canton TX.
Floyd and his wife Connie enjoyed their life together on the farm, which included raising many dogs and having a large garden. His love for gardening started at a young age and continued until a few short years ago. He enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball!
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Jim Howell, nephews Chester Lee and Charles Cross, great-granddaughter Emily Wells and beloved dog, Bailey. He is survived by his wife Connie, daughters Janice (Jerry) Wells, Jaquetta (Danny) Tidwell, and Lea Ann (George) Criswell, son Jeffrey (Margaret) Murray, grandchildren Janette, Janell (Scott), Jared (Shannon), Megan (James), Joshua (Ally), Meleah (Jacob), Taylor, Ahlea, Jeff, Kevin and great-grandchildren Jordan (Katie), Jenna (Matthew), Julia, Jaxon, Jaelynn, Ryker, Raiden, Joel, and baby Jepson on the way, Austin, Madison, Allie, Tiffany and great-great grandchildren Briar and Benny.
Services for Floyd will a graveside service 3:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
