William "Paul" Wheeler (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William “Paul” Wheeler, son of Alvin and Sue Griffin Wheeler, was born August 21, 1934 in Lanett, Alabama. He departed this life Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Cedarhurst Senior Living, Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety years and eleven days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lou Alice Moulder Wheeler; and a son, Jeff Wheeler.
Paul is survived by a son, Joe Wheeler and wife Ann, of Lebanon, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Lu Wheeler of Solan, Iowa; grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler and wife Danielle of Hayward, Wisconsin, and Bethany Wheeler-Bird and husband Tyler of Solan, Iowa; and four great-grandchildren.
Paul earned his Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and spent time stationed at Fort Leonard Wood. Paul met his wife, Lou Alice Moulder shortly after his honorable discharge from the Army, and they were united in marriage on April 5, 1958. They made their home in Mobile, Alabama while he was working as a Civil Engineer. He also spent time in Joplin, Tulsa, Sedalia, and Memphis before settling in Lebanon. Paul was well known in the Lebanon community and managed several Real Estate holdings for many years.
Paul had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Early in his life, he enjoyed riding roller coasters, but later in life, watching the St. Louis Cardinals was more his speed.
He was a hard worker and well respected in his field. Paul was a quiet, intelligent man and leaves a legacy of confidence, perseverance and conviction.
Services for William “Paul” Wheeler will be Saturday, September 7, 2024 at noon at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. – noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
A memorial to St. Jude’s Hospital has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
