William H. Root (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. William H. Root, age 78, of Bolivar, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek Skilled Nursing Home in Springfield, MO.
He was born on April 4, 1935 in Bolivar,MO. The son of Gay Willard Root and Marjorie Alene (Beason) Root.
Bill Had resided his entire like in the Bolivar area, attending Bolivar High School, where he played football and basketball. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator, owning and operating Root's Bulldozing, from which he retired.
William (Bill) Root and Marilynn Boyd were united in marriage on July 30, 1954, and would have celebrated their 59th anniversary in a few weeks. To this union was born one son.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Guy Willard Root and Marjorie Beason Root; his grandparents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, C.l. and Avis Gulick Boyd; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ron and Charlene "Chady" Miller; several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He is survived by his wife Marilynn Root of the home and the Neighborhood at Quail Creek, his son; James (Jim) Root and his wife Viola of Bolivar, grandson; Allen Root and his wife Kim of Halfway, Missouri, and a brother-in-law; Charles Bill Boyd and his wife Marcia of Val Rico, Florida. Great-Grandson Kolton Henry Root(named after Bill), two step-grandsons, Alex and William Cooper, Four step great-grandchildren, three nieces and nephews, Julie Miller Key, Jay Miller, and Ryan Boyd.
