William "Bill" Stanley (Hartville)'s Obituary
William Lawrence Stanley, son of Eugene Warren and Hannah Frances (Buttram) Stanley, was born on December 22, 1941 in Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in his home, Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years. One month and 20 days.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Warren Stanley; and sister, Louise Wiseman and June Ray.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ray (Frazier) Stanley of the home; brothers, Leon Stanley and wife Jane of Seymour, Missouri; Gene Stanley and wife Jackie of Conway, Missouri; and David Stanley and wife Cam of Rogersville, Missouri; sisters, Sue Lansdown and husband Clifford and Evelyn McClanahan, all of Hartville, Missouri, Fay Anderson and husband Jim of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Judy Craighead and husband Ray of Wichita Falls, Texas; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
On March 9, 1974, Bill was united in marriage with Sue Ray Frazier, and together they enjoyed traveling and lived for a number of years in Texas and in Houston and Diggins, Missouri before finally making a permanent home in Marshfield.
Bill was born in Hartville and was a graduate of Hartville High School. Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years, part of which was aboard ship with his brother Gene. He had employment with several firms, including Vector Cable, Owen Corning, and spent several years driving semi’s with Gene before his retirement. Bill enjoyed camping and fishing and later was much interested in wood carving.
Bill was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and dear friend. We celebrate his wonderful life and will always enjoy the many happy memories left for us.
