William Max Stehr (Mansfield)'s Obituary
William “Max” Stehr, husband of the late Anna Stehr, departed this life Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Mansfield, Missouri. He was eighty-four years, six months and twenty-eight days of age.
One of four boys, he was born William Max Stehr on July 19, 1930, to Godfrey and Gladys (Petty) Stehr in Bessie, Oklahoma. He grew up on Jerico Road in the Antioch Baptist Church area. He attended Seymour schools until moving to California where he graduated from Clovis High School in Fresno, California. Max proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Max married Anna Lou Money on December 26, 1952, and to this union two daughters were born. He and Anna shared almost 50 years together until her passing on April 12, 2002.
In addition to his parents and wife, Anna, Max was preceded in death by his three brothers, Leo, Edwin and Bob.
Max leaves behind daughter, Anna Whorton and husband, Chet, of Mansfield, and daughter, Wilda Stehr, of Austin, Texas; and many friends and comrades.
Max moved back to the Mansfield area in 1990, and renewed old friendships and made many more. He truly enjoyed visiting with his friends and spending time at the Eagles Lodge.
William Max Stehr was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal brother and friend. The many fond memories and happy moments Max created for family and friends will be cherished forever. He will be sadly missed.
