William "Tom" Scantlin, Jr (Lebanon)'s Obituary
William Thomas Scantlin, Jr., son of William Thomas Scantlin, Sr. and Carmel Euveen Brown Scantlin, was born March 1, 1958, in Los Angeles, California. He departed this life Monday, September 17, 2018, in his home, in Conway, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, six months, and sixteen days.
On May 21, 2013, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Elaine Earls, and they shared the last six years.
He was preceded in death his parents; and a brother, Jerry Don Baker.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cindy, of the home; two daughters, Carly Reed, and her husband, Justin, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Addey Ferrier, of Conway, Missouri; three sons, Cole Scantlin, and his wife, Chelsey, of Conway, Missouri, Randy Ferrier and David Bucky Ferrier, both of Conway, Missouri; three grandchildren, Sawyer, Kinley, and Layla; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in California and then moved with his family to Richland, Missouri, when he was a small child. He was raised in Richland and graduated from Richland High School. He entered the United States Air Force as a young man and served his country faithfully just at the end of the Vietnam War. During part of his service time he was stationed in England. After being honorably discharged, he made his home at the Lake of the Ozarks before moving to Lebanon. He was employed as a machinist for the Durham Company for twenty-five years. When he met Cindy, he found the love of his life and it was a life changing experience, making him a new man.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, and doing wood working projects. He was a proud conservative and a supporter of President Donald Trump. He was a huge sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching the Alabama Football games and the St. Louis Cardinals. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
