William Tomforde's Obituary
William “Bill” Tomforde was born in Weehawken, New Jersey on November 4, 1927 and departed this world November 11, 2010 after a lengthy battle with multiple health problems.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Charlotte “Sharlet” Tomforde, of the home; a daughter, Moira Tomforde-Prete, of Edgewater, New Jersey; a nephew, Blake Tomforde of Newport, Pennyslvania; and a host of great friends.
Bill was both a U.S. Navy and Army Veteran, who took advantage of the G.I. Bill and attended Rutgers University in New Jersey. He worked in the construction field as supervisor for the IHOP Corporation. Bill and Sharlet moved from Wayne, New Jersey to Missouri in 1978 when he built their home and lived there until his death.
Bill loved the outdoors and animals, horses, dogs, cats, and birds, especially his favorite Fox Trotter horse “Hondo”, with which he shared many enjoyable trail rides until his health deprived him of that pleasure.
To honor Bills’ wishes, there will be no funeral services. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Mo.
