William "Bill" Ware (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Bill Ware of Buffalo, Missouri passed away on February 9, 2025. He was 78 years old.
William Sylvester Ware, the son of Lowell and Sarah Elizabeth (Bass) Ware was born on August 4, 1946, in rural Dallas County, Missouri.
Bill grew up, along with his two sisters, on the family farm on C Highway. He was a typical farm kid, milking cows, baling hay, working in the garden and fishing and swimming in Lindley Creek.
Bill attended Buffalo Schools and graduated with the class of 1964. Upon his graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served and was honorably discharged in 1967.
On April 14, 1972, Bill was united in marriage with Christina Hicks. To this union were born two sons, Robert William and Mark David.
Bill accepted Christ as his savior and was baptized as a boy. He was a member of Legacy Baptist Church and attended regularly until his health began to fail.
He was employed at Bayer Corporation in Kansas City for 31 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, working in his yard, golfing and fishing. He was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, the Missouri Tigers and NASCAR racing.
Bill loved and cherished his wife, his sons and his grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a caring and trusted neighbor and friend. Bill was a good, honorable man who loved and trusted God, worked hard and always tried to do the right thing. His passing is sad for his family and friends, but we rejoice in his homecoming where he is with his savior, his parents and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Connie Stull and Kathie Williamson and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Kathryn Fullerton, Bob Fullerton, Wallace Hicks, Danny Hicks, Lawrence Williams, Bruce Duff and Sam Stull.
Bill is survived by Chris, his wife of 52 years, his sons Robert and his wife Natalie and Mark; his grandchildren Grace, Brooke, Henry, David, Cole and Lucy. He is also survived by his Hicks family who he regarded as brothers and sisters, Joyce Williams, Janiece Duff, Laverna Hicks, Becky and Don Blackburn, Ron Hicks and David and Kathy Hicks, his nieces and nephews and friends.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Cantlon-Otterness $ Viets funeral home, Buffalo, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and formal service at 11:00 am. Bill will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, Missouri.
