Willie Ray Beaugh (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Willie Ray Beaugh, son of Wilson and Laura Manuel Beaugh, was born January 13, 1929, in Ged, Louisiana. He departed this life Saturday, January 28, 2012, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, and fifteen days.
On October 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Hicks, and to this union one daughter and four sons were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Willie, who was also known as “Bada” and “Bo”, is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Mary Jane, of the home; a daughter, Debra McMillen, and her fiancé, Mike Johnson, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sons, Robert Beaugh, and his wife, Jeannie, of Salina, Kansas, Mike Beaugh, and his wife, Alice, of Liberty, Missouri, Paul Beaugh, and his wife, Karen, of Columbus, Mississippi, and John Beaugh, of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Helen Tidwell, Sophie Hodes, both of Houston, Missouri, and Dorothy Buxbaum, of Vinton, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Louisiana and received his education there. As a young man, he entered the United States Army, and served his country faithfully for eleven years. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he worked as a photo lithographer with the civil service for a number of years. He and Mary Jane made their home in Chapman, Kansas, for twenty years, while Willie worked as a custodian for the Chapman Elementary School for eighteen years. He and Mary Jane then moved to Lebanon, Missouri about seven years ago.
Willie was raised in the Catholic faith.
In his spare time he enjoyed doing woodworking projects and making craft items. He also liked caring for his lawn and growing beautiful flowers. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and was a great storyteller. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Willie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
